Resumen

This work analyses the possible influence of different meteorological factors on the electricity demand in Spain. To this end, an electricity consumption model is set up by linear regression against different meteorological variables, and their statistical significance is tested. the results indicate that air temperature is by far the most influencial factor on electricity demand, showing a non-linear and convex relationship. Other significant variables are relative hummidity, sunshine duration and rainfall, all showing a linear relationship with electricity consumption, that is direct in the first case and inverse in the other two cases. The model predicts the electricity load with an estimated error of 6%
