Resumen

The launch during the last two decades of several satellites with sensors working in the near infrared region supposed a revolution in the observation of land surface properties. In this paper a methodology to obtain land surface temperature from remote sensing data is presented. Firstly, we analyze the atmospheric and emissivity corrections effects on the surface radiance giving simple expressions to avoid atmospheric disturbance and to recover the surface radiance once the emissivity effect has been corrected. Finally, two-channel (split-window) methods, dual-angle methods and single channel methods are presented to obtain the land surface temperature.
