Resumen

We show that the picture of the world suggested by quantum mechanics is not a realistic one: quantities don’t take on values before we measure them. We present, in a manner accessible to nonspecialists, two theorems, the Kochen–Specker–Bell no-go theorem and the Bell theorem, which demonstrate that the properties of a microscopic system are not completely defined before we look at it. We explore the connections between the two theorems
