Resum

In this work we consider some aspects of the well known two-body problem in a pedagogical way. We determine the force field acting on a particle which describes a 4-leaved rose orbit. Our analysis highlights the vantages of Lagrangian and Hamiltonian formulations in describing the dynamics of the system. We also illustrate the physical insight gained from the study of the energy diagrams and the phase map structure of this system
