Abstract

By making use of a plausible definition of an elementary particle that gives rise to a kinematical formalism developed by the author, it is shown how the corresponding Lagrangian formalism supplies a classical description of the spin of the elementary spinning particles. A classical model of a spinning electron is introduced and it is compared with the main results obtained by Dirac in his quantum mechanical analysis of the spinning electron
