Abstract

When one (or more) of the system dimensions becomes comparable to characteristic lengths governing long range cooperative phenomena, new effects show up, not appearing in bulk samples. Superlattices allow modifying physical properties which characteristic length scales are comparable to the modulation length. In this article we revise some interesting issues in metallic superlattices with special attention to the relationship between physical properties and interface disorder
