Abstract

The numerical Monte Carlo method is a powerful tool to solve a very complex problem in the Medical Physics field, specially when dealing with the ionizing particles and their interactions with matter. On the last two decades some Monte Carlo codes were developed and demonstrated their useful capabilities, like PENELOPE, EGSnrc/BEAMnrc, MNCPX and Geant4
