Resumen

The Dalmatian Jesuit Rudjer Josif Boskovic (17 11-87) carried out what probably is the most ambitious attempt of unification of physics in the 18th century. In this work, the incorporation of some of Boskovic ideas to the theory of intermolecularforces by James Clerk Maxwell (1831-79) in the context of classical kinetic theory is analysed and its seminal role in the early formulations of modem molecularphysics is stressed
